The White House on Monday announced a new online program that challenges federal and military personnel to submit their own clean energy ideas and suggestions and vote on others. The new GreenGov challenge is running in coordination with National Energy Awareness Month, and any federal employee or military member can submit a clean energy idea from Oct. 19 through Oct. 31.
Some of the top ideas will be presented in November to the Steering Committee on Federal Sustainability -- a group comprised of a senior official from each agency who is responsible for delivering each agency's sustainability plan, the White House said.
I'm sure some ideas will involve tech-savvy approaches to improving the federal workforce, including how it can better utilize telework and Web 2.0 initiatives to cut commutes and travel while not diminishing collaboration among workers. Feel free to also submit your comments or ideas below, or click here to send me an e-mail.
