The company hopes to expand the notion of mobility.
The idea of an Iron Man-like power suit is one of popular imagination, but Hyundai hopes to bring a more practical version to reality.
Commonly known as a car manufacturer, Hyundai is expanding the notion of mobility with its H-Mex suits. The company is currently in a testing phase and has tested the suit with patients with paralysis.
The light-weight H-Mex can be worn over normal clothes, it's controlled via buttons on the crutch handle and boasts a 4-hour battery life. While users won't be able to run a mile, they certainly can take a nice stroll and even climb stairs.
Similar suits are in development to prevent back injury during manual labor and provide mobility for elderly people, who find walking a bit difficult.
Expect these suits to come to market by 2018.
