U.S. shows no signs of winding down covert CIA program.

Pakistani intelligence officials say a suspected U.S. drone fired two missiles, killing 10 militants in northwest Pakistan near the Afghan border, the Associated Press reported. The attack on Thursday killed Uzbek insurgents in a militant hideout.

The Pakistan Parliament recently demanded the United States end drone strikes on its territory. U.S. officials have shown no intention of stopping the CIA’s covert program.

Separately, the Obama administration is weighing bringing more transparency to its drone program in the hope that disclosures could defuse criticism of unmanned attacks.
