The fifth installment in our collaboration with Socrata's Open Data TV.
The city of Gainesville, Florida, is using its open data portal to both connect citizens to government and government departments to each other.
Becky Rountree, the administrative services director for Gainesville, sees this as an opportunity to foster trust.
"Just putting the raw data out there, it shows our constituents that we have nothing to hide," Rountree said. "Here it is, do with it what works for you."
