#CombatingThreats

Manning, Snowden, Martin, Winner—government agencies are well aware of the insider threat problem and the effect they can have. Whether malicious insiders looking to blow the whistle or do damage to agency interests or accidental agents leaking information or access to bad actors, the threat is real.

Agencies across government have or are in the process of establishing programs and offices to detect insider threats before they become a problem. However, standing up such a program does not come without difficulties, from both a technological and organizational culture perspective.

To get to the bottom of these issues, Nextgov is bringing together a morning of uniquely qualified experts to dissect the need for, challenges with and solutions to the insider threat problem across government. We’ll discuss the policies behind insider threat programs, the privacy and security implications of insider threats, and the strategies, including a 360 degree view of personnel, necessary to effectively identify and mitigate the threat.
