GovExec Acquires Contracting Intelligence Firm

The media company announced it has acquired Arlington, Virginia-based GovTribe.
GovExec, the parent company of Nextgov, announced Wednesday that it has acquired GovTribe, an Arlington, Virginia-based contracting and market intelligence firm.
Founded in 2012 by former government contractors, GovTribe offers a range of resources and tools to its growing user base, including business development pipeline management, vendor profiles and analytics and machine learning technology that intelligently combines growing swathes of public data with user behavior.
The company prides itself on its “user-centric approach to technology,” according to co-founder and current Chief Executive Officer Nate Nash. Nash and Chief Technology Officer Jay Hariani built GovTribe after working in the federal contracting space for a decade in an effort to provide contractors the tools they wished they’d had in their former roles.
“Myself and Jay, after working in the [federal contracting] space for about 10 years, we thought the tools out there to help us do our jobs with respect to business development and market intelligence weren’t all that great,” Nash told Nextgov. “We wanted to develop a user-centric approach that helps people understand the federal contracting market.
“Becoming part of the GovExec family will bring more investment in our infrastructure, grow our awareness amongst its incredible customer database, and help fuel more innovation for our ever-growing community of contractors,” Nash added.
The GovTribe acquisition continues GovExec’s recent slate of investments geared toward improving the services it provides to nearly 3 million users and readers monthly through its business units, which include Nextgov, Government Executive, Defense One and Route Fifty.
