Raytheon acquires Teligy in bid to expand security offerings

Raytheon has acquired technology development company Teligy for an undisclosed price, the defense contractor announced.

The acquisition, Raytheon's 11th cyber-related one since 2007, signals the company seeks to boost its security offerings in wireless communications, vulnerability analysis, reverse engineering, custom kernel software and device driver development.

Greer, S.C.-based Teligy creates software for embedded systems, hardware and software for various wireless applications, in addition to other tools. "The Teligy acquisition adds critical wireless capabilities that address the needs of our cybersecurity customers in the intelligence, DoD and federal communities," Lynn Dugle, president of Raytheon's intelligence and information systems business, said in a statement.
