Crucial data on New York graduates is elusive

While the class of 2008 is making post high-school plans and students in the class of 2009 plan for their final year of high school, numbers on what percentage of students in New York's 695 school districts remain unavailable. According to Tom Dunn, a spokesman for the state's Education Department, the state's new data system, estimated to cost $39.4 million over six years, is the source of the problem.
