Database rule slows licenses for immigrants in Georgia
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Georgia's General Assembly voted last summer to delay enacting the 2005 REAL ID Act, but the assembly did subscribe to one of its requirements: clearing noncitizens who seek drivers' licenses by finding their name in a national database of legal immigrants and visitors such as students. Effective since Jan. 1, the process of verification has hardly run smoothly.
