Federal Chief Information Officer Steven VanRoekel knocked off another point of his predecessor Vivek Kundra's 25 Point Implementation Plan to Reform Federal IT Tuesday with the launch of point 11, a technology fellows program.
The program is an offshoot of the government's longstanding Presidential Management Fellows system, a two-year program for recent Master's degree graduates that gives them the option of working at different agencies during their tenure.
VanRoekel has been a less public CIO than Kundra, who he replaced in August, but has quietly followed through on a handful of initiatives, including redefining the role of federal CIOs.
