Hands-free camera maker Looxcie has signed an agreement with the CIA’s venture capital arm In-Q-Tel to develop video cameras for the security and intelligence community, the company announced Thursday.
Looxcie, based in Sunnyvale, Calif., has marketed its “wear and share” video cameras, which are strapped over the ear, as a convenient way to film footage on the go. The company has received venture backing from Artiman Ventures, according to reports.
Jennifer Colton, a spokeswoman for Looxcie, said the firm was unable to disclose how much funding it received from In-Q-Tel. The devices are being developed with In-Q-Tel support for the Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate, the company disclosed.
The office manages science and technology research for security needs.
