The Defense Information Systems Agency said it has been designated the Defense Enterprise Cloud Service Broker, meaning any military outfit that needs such service needs to go through DISA.
The agency said it will act as the broker for both military and commercial cloud services, based on a June 26 Defensewide memo from Teresa Takai, the department’s chief information officer.
One key piece of information lacking from the DISA cloud announcement is whether or not the agency will charge for its brokerage services – and how much. This is a question I intend to pursue.
