Pakistan is developing its own unmanned aircraft, the Guardian reports. Military officials briefed Pakistan's allies about army efforts to develop a combat unmanned aerial vehicle during the International Defense Exhibition and Seminar, an arms fair held in Karachi last week.
The aircraft in development does not have the efficiency of the U.S. Predator drone but can be armed and carry a weapon payload, according to the article, which cites an unnamed official.
Pakistan has criticized the United States for drone attacks on its soil. The United States and Israel reportedly have drones that can fire missiles. China and Turkey also are developing combat drones, according to the Guardian.
