White House to assume key role in cybersecurity

The White House plans to appoint a national adviser to coordinate the government's approach to cybersecurity, previously the responsibility of the Homeland Security Department. President Barack Obama's decision follows a recommendation from a congressional commission that criticized DHS for its disorganized approach to cybersecurity, and advised the next president to centralize policymaking in the White House.
